Minecraft on PC has traditionally been available to download in two separate editions called the Java Edition and the Bedrock Edition. That is set to change on June 7 , however, when the two versions will be sold together on PCs. You may be wondering what this means for you. Minecraft It's just a tiny difference. A single purchase will include both versions of Minecraft in one package. This means that there is only one vanilla Minecraft version that is available on Windows. There's no need to fret about it if you already own Java or Bedrock editions. Mojang has announced that all players who have either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will receive the edition they do not currently have for free, right in the Minecraft Launcher. However, it could take up to three days to be available. Heading into the future, Jave and Bedrock will be their distinct games with their own features. The features are the same. The only difference is that you will receive both versions as standard when you buy Minecraft for Windows. Both versions are part of the same launcher. Java is only available on PC, Mac, and Linux systems. The Bedrock Edition is also available on PC, Android, iOS, Windows 10 Mobile, and a variety of consoles, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and so forth. Java is the most flexible version of Minecraft on PC however it does not allow cross-platform play. The Java Edition has a higher performance limit, and tends to look better on higher-end gaming computers, while the Bedrock Edition is designed for smoother play and has shorter load times.
