Mojang's Patrick Geuder said that Minecraft's massive sandbox is close to 54 million copies across all platforms. He also stated via Twitter that the sales of console (Xbox 360, PS3) versions have now surpassed those of the PC and Mac versions. The game will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and Vita in August, the latter being compatible with Cross-Buy which is free for players with the PS3 version. Xbox One and PS4 owners that have the game on Xbox 360 or PS3 will be able to download new-gen versions for $5. The first time players experienced Minecraft came in May 2009, when the alpha version was made available, a little more than two years prior to its official release in November. Mojang and Markus "Notch", Persson, the creator of Minecraft, have achieved many milestones in the sales. Recently, Mojang reported that 15 million copies had been sold of the PC version. MINECRAFT SERVERS sold 12 million copies, while the Pocket Edition for iOS or Android was 21 million copies. [Image: Mojang]
